If flying solo or training to fly a paraglider is not your thing then why not sit back, relax in armchair comfort and enjoy a tandem paragliding flight with the 2006-2011 New Zealand cross country Tandem Paragliding Champion. No experience, training or special skills are needed only a low level of fitness is required. You will see the most breath-taking views over Nelson and three surrounding National Parks.

As the wing comes up gracefully above your head your skilled pilot brings the paraglider under control. You make a final visual check infront to make sure there's no other air traffic, then slowly walk forward. As you do so the pilot lets the glider pick up speed and your feet are lifted off the ground. You're paragliding! The easiest, freest form of flight known to man. No jumping off cliffs, no engine and no heavy frame to carry around, paragliding really is the next best thing to flying like a bird.

You will thermal up into the sky off Barnicoat Hill where you will have an astounding view over three National Parks, including the world famous Abel Tasman! Birds start to circle around you as you climb, sometimes coming within feet of the wing. Your pilot will take you on a tour of the Richmond Ranges and then bring you safely back down to earth with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Movies and pics are available post-flight, to burn to disc or e-mail home. At the landing you have the opportunity to view the images prior to purchasing them for the low price of $20. The information is then transferred to a cd .This process takes two minutes and then you're ready to show your friends or e-mail home.
